Located in the north-east corner of the Skåne Region, Kristianstad offers a number of interesting attractions for visitors to sustainability sites. The large central hospital is one of the most energy efficient and sustainable hospitals in Sweden. The biogas plant in Karpalund produces biogas to fuel buses in several municipalities and cities in Skåne, based on sludge and biological waste that is collected across the region. The recycling park is a prime example of waste management at its best, sorting the valuable waste in different fractions, leaving only a tiny rest for depositing.
