The university city of Lund includes the construction site of the European neutron accelerator ESSS, which will be powered entirely by renewable sources and deliver large amounts of heat from its process to the district heating grid of Lund. Around this and the nuclear physics lab Max IV the new housing area of Brunnshög is being constructed. The planners of this area will take the experiences of previous projects in Malmö and Stockholm into account and create one of the world’s foremost green city development areas with sustainable transports, energy efficient buildings, innovative and sustainable recreation opportunities, and a number of other sustainable features.
